Dear friends, Our mission is to provide the highest quality oriental medicine to our community and beyond. Under current circumstances, it has become clear that the best way to provide that is to close our clinic to in-person care starting tomorrow. We have been waiting for guidance from authorities in this matter. Today the American Society of Acupuncturists suggested postponing non-essential visits from patients and we agree. Here is a link to their recommendations, including the recommendations to be "cautiously optimistic" about the promise of herbs in treating this disease. www.asacu.org/wp-content/uploads/March-17-ASA-Covid-Announcement_post-review.pdf OUR PHARMACY IS OPEN AND HERE TO SERVE YOU Thank you for your continued support I will be available to fill and mail prescriptions as needed during this time. Acupuncture, Herbs and Shiatsu help regulate immunity With the worldwide spread of COVID-19, everyone is doing their best to stay healthy. In China, cases are declining. The Chinese Government has mandated as of 2/20/20 that all patients with a confirmed infection are to use Chinese medicine. Our colleagues in China have been generous in sharing their experiences, prescriptions, and results. To quote John Chen, Ph.D., OMD: History and experience prove that Traditional Chinese Medicine is effective against epidemic diseases. From the Western Han Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, at least 321 large-scale plagues occurred in China. Chinese medicine has served to wage life-and-death battles against various plague consistently through time and has successfully contained the spread of epidemics in a limited area and time. There has never been a similar tragedy in China's history, such as the Spanish flu or the Black Death in Europe. These are examples of global plagues that killed tens of millions of people. In the Chinese history, whenever a plague is rampant, Chinese medicine practitioners are always on the front lines to battle the disease. Many survived with the help of Chinese Medicine; so in this fight with the insidious and novel Coronavirus, Chinese Medicine once again should take a primary role in effective treatment and must not be absent in action! Modern research confirms its efficacy- "Clinically, YPFS has been shown to produce beneficial immune-modulatory effects of preventing bacterial and viral infections. Recent studies revealed that YPFS exerts antiviral effects including effects against influenza virus, human respiratory syncytial virus, and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus [1]–[5], as well as curative effects in inflammation-associated diseases including allergic rhinitis [6], [7] and asthma [8]."
