Chinese medicine has helped people maintain good health and treat illness for thousands of years.  We have decided to remain open to serve the community during this time.  We are making some changes to best address the current situation
 
Community Shiatsu and Acupuncture by Appointment!

Our walk-in clinic is now by appointment.  This will help to limit the number of people in our waiting room.  It will also allow you to schedule anytime our office is open, Tues-Fri!  Give us a call at 802-472-7153 to schedule a short shiatsu or acupuncture in the waiting room for $20
 
Herbal Consultations by Phone
Staying at home?  Herbs can help regulate immune function in all stages of health.  Phone consults are $30 plus the cost of herbs.  Your prescription can be mailed or picked up at our drop box outside.

Cleaning and universal precautions

We have always prioritized a clean office here at Inner Rivers.  Our office is deep cleaned every week- thanks to Fury McManus for keeping our office so clean all the time!!  She is an important member of our team now and always.  We vacuum chairs and entrance area every day.  We have increased our cleaning due to current events.  We sanitize doorknobs, face cradles, credit card machine, and tea station throughout the day.  Hand sanitizer will be available at the desk.  We have HEPA air filters and ventilation fans to keep the air clean, as well as lots of plants!  We've been washing our hands all along, hopefully you have too!  As always, our restroom and pharmacy has plenty of moisturizing hand soap when you need to wash up.

Acupuncture, Herbs and Shiatsu help regulate immunity

With the worldwide spread of COVID-19, everyone is doing their best to stay healthy.  In China, cases are declining.  The Chinese Government has mandated as of 2/20/20 that all patients with a confirmed infection are to use Chinese medicine.  Our colleagues in China have been generous in sharing their experiences, prescriptions, and results.  

To quote John Chen, Ph.D., OMD:

History and experience prove that Traditional Chinese Medicine is effective against epidemic diseases. 

From the Western Han Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, at least 321 large-scale plagues occurred in China. Chinese medicine has served to wage life-and-death battles against various plague consistently through time and has successfully contained the spread of epidemics in a limited area and time.  There has never been a similar tragedy in China's history, such as the Spanish flu or the Black Death in Europe.  These are examples of global plagues that killed tens of millions of people.

In the Chinese history, whenever a plague is rampant, Chinese medicine practitioners are always on the front lines to battle the disease. Many survived with the help of Chinese Medicine; so in this fight with the insidious and novel Coronavirus, Chinese Medicine once again should take a primary role in effective treatment and must not be absent in action!

​If you are staying home, Chinese herbal medicine is available to help!  Whether you are getting healthy or staying that way, Michele is offering consultations by phone to address your needs.  Everyone is looking for the best herbs for their immunity.  The best herbs for immunity are individual and help to address your specific condition.  A healthy person has a robust immune system!  Phone consults are $30 plus the cost of herbs.  As always, refills are free (cost of herbs+ shipping, no consult charge) They can be shipped to your door for a flat rate of $10 or picked up at our drop box for no additional charge.  We have a well stocked compounding pharmacy and most prescriptions can be ready for same day pickup.
